Well, hi! Hello there.
It's nice to meet you. My name is Tara O'Brady and I live in southern Ontario, Canada. I started this site in May 2005 - it was intended as my recipe file, to keep track of things as I built a life with my boyfriend. Here's the beginning. In the years since, my boyfriend has become my husband, we moved from our first apartment to our first house, welcomed our first son, moved to our second house and welcomed our second son.
Through all of this, seven spoons has become about more than recipes; it's also a story of sorts, a collection of thoughts and family and food.

I am a core contributor to UPPERCASE magazine; I have stories in Issue 2 , Issue 4, and each issue after that. I'm also happy say that I'm a contributor to Kinfolk magazine. I've written for Saveur, The Globe and Mail, Style at Home, and Parenting.com. My recipes and photographs have also appeared on Bon Appétit, Oprah.com, and Design*Sponge.
A selection of print features about me and/or my work include The Wall Street Journal on March 8, 2013, Glow Magazine October 2012, olive magazine's September 2012 issue, Maclean's magazine for June 5, 2012, and The National Post newspaper for April 14, 2012. seven spoons was nominated for best photography, best writing and best recipes for the 2010 Candian Food Blog Awards, winning in writing and recipes. This site has also been nominated for multiple writing, recipe and photography awards from magazines such as Saveur and Fine Cooking. It is recommended by MSN's Delish.com, considered one of Gourmet's favourite food sites, one of Saveur.com's "Sites We Love", and one of Babble.coms 50 Best Mom Food Blogs, placing third in the world on their 2011 list.

If you represent a product you think I might be interested in trying, please email me. I do review cookbooks, choosing those that appeal to the way I cook and they way we eat. I do not offer paid reviews, for books or products, nor do I allow for editorial input or content from outside parties. All opinions are my honest thoughts.
