Images from our drive out to St. Jacobs. The Farmers Market, top photo (clockwise from left): honey-sweet nectarines from Niagara that were too good to resist; gorgeously fat and fiery radishes; an array of hot peppers in adorable little woven baskets; a field of perfectly crisp and tender beans. Trolling for antiques, bottom photo (clockwise from top): a display of vintage cameras; food tins with charming artwork; a scale fit for royalty; detail of a wall of kitchen utensils.

Just a quick note to say - lovely radishes .... they always call my name in the market and I am sucked in to buy a bunch (if I need them or not)! They are great shaved over a salada - looks so pretty.

Lovely pics! Sounds like you had a lovely day. Those rolling pins are a dream--wouldn't it be lovely to hang a collection of those in your kitchen? Sigh.

Lovely photo of the summer bounty. It lifted my spirits, for which I thank you.

I have lived in BC now for the past 13 years, but, remember the St. Jacobs Farmer's Market well!! Besides all the wonderful Ontario produce I would find Cheddar cheese bread, Shoofly Pies, maple syrup and perogies from the Mennonites.

I do love a good radish, especially when served sliced on brown bread with butter and good, crackly salt. Glad you agree, Erika.

Michèle, those were just the beginning. That shot is a detail of a a much larger wall of kitchen paraphenalia, from scone imprinting tools to adorable pastry wheels.

Stephanie, I did too, but found a hard time deciding. There were so many charming ones to choose from, but I was partial to that beauty.

Tana, my pleasure!

valli, so happy to hear that I could bring back a fond memory or two. The perogies are truly worth the drive!

j. smith, you are surely welcome. Cheers!
